Caffeinated: Art Stained with Time

An exhibition by Larry Abreno.

Time does not pass—it lingers, seeping into the fibers of memory, much like coffee bleeds into paper, leaving traces of what once was. This exhibition captures that essence, transforming coffee stains into textured echoes of resilience, nostalgia, and transformation.

Each piece is a conversation between time and medium—coffee’s rich monochromatic warmth blending with the delicate hues of wine, tea, berries, watercolour, and acrylic. Drips, stains, and brushstrokes form intricate artworks, suspending moments where memory and artistry intertwine. Imperfection becomes beauty, and each mark whispers stories of fleeting yet profound existence.

Beyond artistic expression, “Caffeinated” challenges us to see art as more than just creation—it is preservation, a mindful act of sustainability. By repurposing coffee, wine, berries, and tea, this exhibition embraces eco-conscious materials, proving that creativity and responsibility can thrive together. It is not just a showcase of artworks but an invitation: to pause, to reflect, and to rediscover the quiet significance of what is left behind—stained not only in art but in time.

Larry Abreno is a modern contemporary artist renowned for his evocative works crafted from sustainable materials such as coffee, wine, berries, tea, acrylic, and watercolour. His unique approach to coffee art transforms stains into stories, weaving memory and medium into striking monochromatic expressions. Each piece invites viewers into a conversation—an intimate reflection on time, nostalgia, and transformation.
