SUPPORT
The Meteor theatre, our beloved black box and community creativity hub, is celebrating a major milestone – 30 years of creativity and courageous storytelling.
Since 1996, The Meteor has been Hamilton’s home for emerging artists, rangatahi workshops, amateur and professional theatre, school shows, music, dance and comedy, the weird, the bold, and the wonderfully local.
The building has long been a place where Hamiltonians gather. Originally the Innes bottling factory, the site was home to Skateworld in the 1970s and 80s before becoming a theatre and music venue as The Meteor in 1996. Whether people came here to work, to skate, or to see or perform in their first gig, the site at 1 Victoria Street has always been a place where the community comes together. Since the One Victoria Trust took over the building from the council in 2014, more than 250,000 people have visited.
Help us continue to be “30, Flirty and Thriving” by donating either $3.30, $30, $300, $3,000 – or any amount you choose!
You can either donate directly to The One Victoria Trust Board Incorporated, 38-9015-0491018-00, or click below!

Please email [email protected] if you need a donation receipt.
Shout a Ticket!

The Meteor is launching a new initiative called Shout a Ticket where we provide rangatahi with the opportunity to experience theatre and form a deeper connection to the arts. We target community groups that wouldn’t otherwise be exposed to theatre and the arts. Shout a Ticket invites rangatahi to come see a show at The Meteor and leave with a kete full of inspiration, creativity, and impactful experiences.
We are reaching out to local individuals, businesses, and organisations to help form purposeful partnerships that will allow us to kickstart this initiative. We are rolling out Shout a Ticket in anticipation of our upcoming kids show in July. With your support we can ensure seats are filled, not just with those who can afford it, but with all tamariki and rangatahi from across our community— removing the barriers and allowing access to young people to experience theatre.
Why partner with us? As a business, your support goes far beyond a single show. You’re investing in:
- Equitable access to the arts for underserved communities
- Long-term impact on the creativity, confidence, and cultural engagement of rangatahi
- Purposeful partnerships that reflect your commitment to community generosity
- Visibility for your business through public acknowledgements, social media features, and event-day recognition
Ways you can support:
- Sponsor blocks of tickets (e.g. 25, 50, 100 or more seats)
- Become a named partner of the Shout a Ticket programme
- Promote the initiative within your networks and staff
So… shout a ticket today!
