Experience the mesmerizing fusion of “West Meets East ” in this unique musical collaboration. The soulful sounds of the sitar, the soaring melodies of the violin, and the rhythmic pulse of the tabla come together in a harmonious blend of traditional Indian classical and contemporary Western music. This innovative fusion creates a rich tapestry of sound that transcends cultural boundaries, transporting listeners on a sonic journey from West to East . From the intricate ragas of Indian classical to the improvisational spirit of jazz and Western Classical Music featuring: 

 (1) Monique Lapins (Violin) has worked as second Violinist  of the ” New Zealand string Quartet ” & Lecturer at the School of music, Victoria University of Wellington. 

(2) Basant Madhur (Tabla) Award winning Tabla player who has worked with Grammy award winner Indian musicians & various projects including ” Shades of Shakti , Indo Celtic Trio, India Meets ireland to name a few.

(3) Sargam Madhur (Sitar) Talented young Sitar player of New Zealand who has been featured in Arts on tour projects and many prestigious Festivals & performances all over New Zealand.

The performance by the Trio is inspired by the historic meeting of two musical giants, Ravi Shankar and Yehudi Menuhin, as they come together in a captivating collaboration that bridges the gap between Eastern and Western classical traditions. ‘West Meets East’ is a groundbreaking album that showcases the beauty of cross-cultural exchange, featuring Shankar’s mesmerizing sitar and Menuhin’s virtuosic violin in a series of improvisational ragas that captivate and inspire.” Which was accompanied by the Great Tabla maestro of India “Ustad Alla Rakha.”
