A staged reading by Carving in Ice Theatre.
When Bella Baird, a creative writing professor at an Ivy League university, begins to mentor a talented yet enigmatic student, Christopher, the two form an unexpectedly intense bond. Both are confronting their own fears of mortality and intimacy. As their lives and the stories they tell themselves become intertwined in unpredictable ways, Bella makes a surprising request of Christopher. Adam Rapp’s riveting and suspenseful play explores the limits of what one person can expect of another. Contemplative, intensely intimate and deeply moving, The Sound Inside draws its audience into a fascinating mystery layered with stories, clues and memories.
Directed by Gaye Poole, with Mandy Faulkner as Bella Baird and Liam Hinton as Christopher.
