St John’s College and Sacred Heart Girls College are excited to get their head in the game and bring High School Musical to the Meteor Stage.
It’s a modern take on this classic stage show, set right here in Aotearoa with contemporary clothing, and a high school you should be able to relate to-even if you don’t want to! Have you ever wanted to break free from your routine daily life and follow your heart in a new and exciting direction? Troy Bolton (the basketball boy) and Gabriella Montez (the brainiac) are two students who ignite in themselves a love of singing when by chance they sing karaoke together while on a ski trip.
Reuniting after the holidays, the pair decide to audition for their high school’s musical, but immediately receive pressure from those around them to stick to the status quo. Worse still, siblings Sharpay and Ryan Evans feel their roles as head thespians are in danger, and conspire to ruin Troy and Gabriella’s chances in order to secure the lead roles in yet another school musical.
Will this be the start of something new or will Sharpay and Ryan once again bop to the top, and stop their dreams before they start?
