The Meteor Theatre is now operating under the Traffic Light system.
In all cases, proof of vaccination will be required, using the government’s NZ Pass Verifier App. This applies to all staff, patrons, contractors, volunteer workers, Trustees and users of the Creative Cluster.
ORANGE
There will be increasing community transmission that is putting pressure on the health system. The whole of health system will focus its resources, but can continue to manage primary care, public health, and hospitals. There may also be an increasing risk for at-risk people.
- There are no limits on audience capacity for shows, as social distancing is no longer mandatory. Most shows will be GA and you can choose where to sit.
- Mask-wearing will still be mandatory when watching a show, it’s for your own health and safety!
- While Vaccine Passes are no longer required for entry into the venue, some event producers may elect to have us check for them. This will be clearly indicated on the event listing.
GREEN
Used when there are some Covid-19 cases in the community, and sporadic imported cases. Community transmission will be limited, and Covid-19 hospitalisations will be at a manageable level. The health system will be ready to respond, including primary care, public health, and hospitals.
- There are no limits on audience capacity for shows, as social distancing is no longer mandatory. Most shows will be GA and you can choose where to sit.
- Mask-wearing will be strongly encouraged.
RED
Used when the virus is spreading in a way which requires action to be taken to protect at-risk people and our health system.
- At Red, The Meteor Theatre will be open with a limit of 200 patrons, based on 1m distancing.
- Mask-wearing will still be mandatory when watching a show.
