Toi Wāhine – Emerging Voices

Saturday, 4th August, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Emerging Voices: A Work in Progress showing of ‘Wāhine’, devised by Cove Theatre and directed by Cian Gardner. The piece explores the relationships between women within the whanau. Specifically, the knowledge and experiences interchanged between generations. We are interested in the concept of Mana Wāhine within the everyday woman. What does it mean for each of the characters to be a woman during their time. What are their fears, aspirations, conflicts, and joys? How is that shared with children and grandchildren, and how is it perceived?

Please come along and see the bones of our piece, Wāhine, and help to shape the future of the work. Cove Theatre wants to share Māori and Pasifika stories.. Standing on the grounds of inclusion and authentic storytelling, our kaupapa is to create a sense of belonging for all.

*A free event for all*
