The 18th annual Hamtown Smakdown is locked in for Queen’s Birthday weekend, Friday May 31st and Saturday June 1st.
Hamtown Smakdown is a cool little fest that showcases the Aotearoa hardcore punk scene to the existing fans, and also to the wider community; it is a sort of ‘taste-test’, so to say, for all things Aotearoa hardcore punk. Bands, art, distros, food, clothes, and 100% genuine nz-grown punx folk in the flesh – Smakaz truly has it all!
As always, Smakdown is an all-ages, drug and alcohol-free environment. We have discounted rates for secondary students and under-18, while under-13s are free as long as they’re with adult whānau.
With a line up of at least 14 bands, everyone who comes along is practically guaranteed to find something they enjoy amongst the variety of unique sounds each band will bring with them.
Hailing from all over the place, bands include Spiteful Urinator, Hagseed, Sick Old Man, Xile, including some newbies with Amanaki, ColdxWar and Happy Valley and many more.
